Arun K. Arora

Mr. Arun Arora joined SightLife board since 2014. He is a graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and did his Masters from Delhi School of Social Work. He was associated with Eicher group for 30 years largely as an HR Professional as well as General Manager of Garment Export Business.

Mr. Arun K. Arora joined Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital as Chief Executive Officer since 2004, and currently leads a team of Doctors and Professionals to deliver Quality Eye Care to the unreached. During his tenure he has been able to transform this 100 year old hospital into a tertiary eye care institute rated as the second best in North India and seventh best in India (Week Magazine, Nov. 2013). Arun has always been actively involved in social issues from college days. During his student days he was active in the field of voluntary work and won the best Social Worker Medal in his college. He is presently the Chairperson of Prerana, a non-profit connected with gender equality, girl child education, women livelihood.

Mr. Aparajit Bhattacharya joined SightLife board in 2014. He serves Hemant Sahai Associates as Partner. Aparajit’s focus areas of practice are Corporate Commercial, Mergers & Acquisition and Private Equity. He is also a member of the Infrastructure team with a specific focus on environmental matters. In his legal experience of almost a decade and a half, he has led diverse assignments and transactions in corporate commercial and has advised clients on many cross- border transactions that relate to foreign investment in India, their entry strategies, M&A, equity investments, joint ventures, management buyouts and corporate restructuring. He has worked across varied segments of commerce and industry in services, trading and manufacturing sectors. The spectrum of industries, ranges from manufacturing (across diverse sectors), consumer products and durables, retail, financial services, infrastructure, power / energy, pharmaceuticals, hospitality, F&B and health-care, IT, technology and software, ecommerce etc.

Aparajit is a pioneer in the area of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). He extended his legal counsel to one of the first CDM projects in India and has advised some of the largest CDM transitions in the world. Aparajit has been a trusted advisor to many of his clients and sits on the board and advisory committees of several companies. He also sits on the board of two renowned global charities, Childreach International and SightLife.

Aparajit has consistently been listed as a leading Indian M&A corporate lawyer by Chambers Asia and by Chambers Global. He has been listed as a leading lawyer by Asia Law Profiles, The Intercontinental Finance Magazine (UK), ACQ Law Awards (UK), Global Business Magazine (UK), and Global Law Experts for Climate Change Legal Advisory Services. Atul Kapoor is a business leader with more than two decades of global experience in the corporate as well as social development sectors. He has extensive exposure across cross functional areas including P&L management, strategy & leadership, business development, channel development & management, end-to-end program management, fund raising and budgeting. In addition to proven competence in setting up business units and functions, Atul has scaled them up into sustainable and profitable businesses. He has demonstrated excellence in managing diverse sets of internal as well as external stakeholders, ensuring buy-in for strategies and effective implementation of the same. He is equally adept at building and leading cross-cultural, highly diverse teams.

During his tenure in the for-profit sector, Atul adopted a results-oriented approach across stints in FMCG, Pharma and Telecom. Moving within and across different learning experiences, he actively worked on mergers and acquisitions, setting up business operations beyond India (Egypt, South Africa, Russia, Bangladesh) and helped organizations to scale, enhance value and achieve accelerated growth.

After achieving success in the corporate world, Atul transitioned to the not-for-profit sector to leverage his learning and skills for a greater cause. He strongly believes in the power of ‘one’ to can make an impactful difference, and brought this belief to his work as previous Vice President, India for SightLife India and previous Chief Operating Officer of PSI/India. He currently serves SightLife India as board member and chief functionary.

He holds a Bachelors in Pharmacy Science (BITS, Pilani) and a Master’s Degree in Business Management (IRMA, Anand) and is a certified trainer in Stephen Covey’s programs.
